ADVERTISING ON TWITTER
WHAT IS TWITTER?
Twitter is an online social networking service in which users post and interact with short messages known as "tweets." Although primarily used to share and discuss news and current events, Twitter has proven to be a powerful and unique advertising platform as well. Twitter ads can include photos, graphics and videos, in addition to links to your website or preferred retailers.
TWITTER ADS — THE BASICS
Anyone can post an ad on Twitter. You don’t need to have a certain type of profile (like Facebook). When you “promote” tweets — Twitter’s form or advertising — you pay only when you've achieved your marketing objective, such as re-tweets, follows or conversions. That makes advertising on Twitter efficient and affordable. On Twitter you can get clicks for pennies—literally. And any subsequent engagements are free. Twitter also offers some unique ad targeting features like key-wording and hashtags: You can target people who have used a specific word or hashtag in their tweets (or people who have interacted them) in the last seven days. You can target not only the people who saw your promoted tweet, but those people who actually engaged with it.
